Purpose:

- An Access Control Officer Controls, screens and searches individuals, vehicles and goods/cargo/commodities,
- Escorts people entering and exiting the premises or property
- To safeguard the organisation against external threats and potential losses and completes all relevant documentation.
Occupational Certificate: Asset Protection Officer
Purpose:
The purpose of this part-qualification is to provide the learner with the required knowledge, practical skills and workplace-based learning to prepare a learner to operate as an Asset Protection Officer.
- An Asset Protection Officer controls and protect assets, individuals and property,
- Identifies and responds to emergency situations to provide a safe environment and
- Documents incidents pertaining to safety and security within own scope of work.
Occupational Certificate: Patrol Officer
Purpose:
The purpose of this part-qualification is to provide the learner with the required knowledge, practical skills and workplace-based learning to prepare a learner to operate as a Patrol Officer.
- A Patrol Officer patrols conducts various types of security patrols by observing and monitoring the physical environment or property for suspicious behaviors/activities and potential hazards and/or threats,
- Identifies and responds to the potential and/or existing hazards/threats and complete all relevant documentation.
Occupational Certificate: Security First Line Manager
A qualified learner will be able to:
- Perform asset protection functions.
- Supervise work unit to achieve work unit objectives.
- Conduct Security Risk Assessments.
- Lead, organise and control security team members to achieve maximum operational performance.
- Support, coach and motivate security team members to improve performance.
- Coordinate and maintain security processes to ensure compliance.
- Implement and enforce regulations and standards in accordance with industry practices.
Occupational Certificate: Security Officer
A qualified learner will be able to:
- Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of unauthorised entry or infractions of rules.
- Respond to emergency alarms, react to complaints received and investigate incidents.
- Control access and egress to allow authorised entry and prevent unauthorised entry.
- Use, inspect, maintain and report faulty security equipment.
- Write security reports, complete registers and take statements.
